Carol Lemmon Olson spent a 36-year career as a nurse working predominantly at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. She rose to the role of Director of Critical Care and acting Vice President of Nursing. After growing up in Boardman, she graduated from Youngstown State University achieving a bachelor’s (1976) and master’s (1989) degree. Carol and her husband Dan have lived most of their lives in Trumbull County. She received a scholarship from the Women’s Board of the Youngstown Hospital Association which provided her the means to become a nurse. To pay it forward, Carol wants to help support future nurses from the Mahoning Valley by establishing nursing scholarships at both Kent State University and Youngstown State University.
