Dr. Koss served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps and worked for U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh before becoming a teacher. Dr. Koss, a Professor in the Department of Economics at YSU, served as a faculty member for 33 years, teaching Economics, Statistics, Labor Relations, and Collective Bargaining. He always showed a sincere interest in the development of his students and was a steadfast advocate of faculty rights and interests as a member of the YSU Chapter of the Ohio Education Association. Dr. Koss was an avid cyclist and completed numerous century cycling rides as well as a solo trip from Fairbanks, Alaska to Prudhoe Bay.

This scholarship was established in his memory to assist an undergraduate sophomore or higher with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is majoring in accounting, business administration, economics, business economics, or finance.
