Stringer Psychology Scholarship
Dr. Sharon A. Stringer, Professor of Psychology, taught courses in human development, conducted research, and mentored students for over thirty years at YSU. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgetown University, Dr. Stringer earned her Master of Science and Ph.D. in Applied Developmental Psychology at the University of Miami in Florida. She worked extensively on numerous interdisciplinary intervention projects with infants, children, teenagers, and parents in Maryland, Florida, and New Orleans. Her research focuses on ways to reduce stigma and build resilience.
This scholarship was established to support psychology student(s) who are enrolled full-time of sophomore class standing or higher with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
