The Dr. Evelyn DeLong Mangie and James D. Mangie, Sr. Scholarship was established in 2015 by James and Evelyn Mangie. In 1956, James earned a Business Degree in Marketing at Youngstown University. Evelyn, a non-traditional student, received a degree in Anthropology in 1984, her Master’s Degree in History in 1987 and went on to earn a doctorate degree from the University of Akron. Until his retirement, James was president of Specialty Steel Sales in Youngstown, Ohio and Evelyn is a professor at Florida Southwestern State College. Their scholarship is awarded to a non-traditional female student enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences.
