2. What initially made you choose YSU?
I chose YSU for a few different reasons. I grew up in nearby Liberty and attended football and basketball games with my dad and grandpa from a young age. The opportunity to stay close to home and receive an affordable education was also very attractive to me. Another reason I chose YSU was the chance to work in the Athletic Marketing department under Associate AD, Rick Love, throughout my four years.
3. How did receiving a YSU Foundation scholarship(s) help you with your education?
I believe the YSU Foundation scholarships I received were critical to my education because they provided a solid base to fund my studies. Between living at home the foundation scholarships, and my internship, I not only graduated from YSU with no student debt, but graduate school as well. Without the scholarships I received from the YSU Foundation, I believe my career path might look very different.
4. How did receiving said scholarship(s) impact your life after graduation?
As I mentioned above, receiving scholarships allowed me to bank money for 4 years. After graduation from YSU, I attended Ohio University where I received my Master of Business Administration and Master of Sports Administration. Five years after graduating from YSU, I am pursuing my dream working in the sports business field in my dream location of southwest Florida.
5. Please share anything else about yourself/your story that you would like to share.
Even though I have since branched out and left Youngstown, the city and university will always be my home. I am forever grateful for the opportunities and memories provided to me by Youngstown State University and will always be Y and Proud!
