Michael was born in Campbell, Ohio in 1929, the son of Slovak immigrants. The value of education was a defining element in his life. Encouraged by his father to study hard to achieve a better life, Michael graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and later earned his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown College and a master’s degree from Westminster College.
This scholarship was established by Michael’s children to honor his memory by supporting students enrolled in a program within the Department of Teacher Education.
