A graduate of Ursuline High School, Anthony Schiavone, where he was a member of the golf team, attended Youngstown State University. “Tony” as he was affectionately known, worked in the family grocery business for over 25 years before owning his own travel agency. Before retiring in 2011, Tony was an independent contractor, working as a title abstractor in the oil and gas industry. An avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Tony was married to his loving wife, Carol for 46 years. Carol and their children, Chris, Jackie, and Sal are proud to endow this scholarship in his name. Tony loved cheering for the Penguins and gave generously to the athletic department at YSU. Tony Schiavone believed in helping others.
This scholarship will embody his great spirit, his love of family, and his love for the game of golf. Eligible student(s) for this scholarship must be on the YSU women’s golf team or the YSU men’s golf team, with preference given to student(s) from the tri-county area.
